“Diversity” and “Inclusion” in a workplace may seem like two concepts that are essentially the same, but a savvy employer knows they’re not alike and that you need both to have a diverse and productive workforce.

“Diversity is the mix. Inclusion is making the mix work,” said Felicia Johnson, founder and director of the Gatson Group LLC, an Irving, Texas-based strategic advisory firm that helps companies improve workforce diversity and inclusion.
