The Value of Credentials
How much would you pay for effectiveness? Or confidence? Or the capacity to be viewed as a highly competent professional? Or for the ability to get a new job with more responsibility?
Yes, you will pay a lot less for our certification compared to other “certificate” programs; but it’s not because Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC)® credentials aren’t valuable. Our strategy is to make certification affordable so that more people will achieve qualification credentials, and cost isn’t a barrier to effectiveness, or confidence, or competence.
Nevertheless, the emphasis of IDC’s credentialing program is on the value that our credentials bring to an employer’s bottom-line and the benefits of a Learning Management System in our designees’ careers.
Description of Fees
Test fees and related materials are for a one-time sitting only. The Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC)® provides discount codes that can be used to achieve greater savings. Candidates may only use one Promo Code at a time. New Promo Codes cannot be used retroactively, or past the expiration date.
The following Promo Codes can be used at any time for the self-study, online or classroom-based prep courses.
- Groups of 3 or more are entitled to a special 30% discount when they use the online Promo Code: GROUP
- Society for Diversity members receive a 20% discount upon using the online Promo Code: MEMBER
You may opt to become a Society for Diversity member, which provides year-round benefits and recertification credits, for $169. Take advantage of the instant 20% discount as you apply for CDP or CDE credentials now. The membership is for one-year. You must take the CDP® or CDE® exam within the calendar year for which you applied. The calendar year runs from January 1 to December 31. If you miss the Dec. 31st deadline for any reason, you must pay the Exam Change Fee, which is $350.
If you do not pass the knowledge-based exam with a clear 80.0% or better, you must pay the Exam Retest Fee, which is $599 for either exam in 2019. The retest fee is a per sitting fee.
Withdrawals and/or Refunds
Candidates who withdraw from the program within 14 days of their registration date may receive a refund, minus a $500 processing fee. No refunds will be provided, for any reason, after 15 days have expired. Candidates may choose to reschedule or make a substitution in the same calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) without being charged a fee. If a substitution is made in a subsequent calendar year, the $350 Exam Change Fee shall apply.
If a Candidate chooses to withdraw, study guides must be returned unused or the cost of the study guide will be deducted from the refund, along with the withdrawal fee. Allow 30 days for refund processing. Also, Society for Diversity membership fees will not be refunded.
Candidates who are scheduled to test but cancel their knowledge-based exam within 48 hours of taking the test will be charged a fee for the cancellation. The Late Cancellation Fee is $350 before rescheduling can occur.
The Recertification Fee is $50. If a certification lapses more than one (1) year, designees will have to retest but will not have to submit another Candidate Project. The going rate for the CDP® or CDE® exam will apply. If the study guide has changed, candidates may utilize the online version at no cost or purchase another study guide at the going rate.
Alternatively, for a limited time, designees may pay a higher fee ($250) and commit to additional continuing education in exchange for renewing expired credentials. This option does not require taking the exam.
